Antinuclear Factors
Guideline
- Found non-specifically in many autoimmume diseases including
RA, scleroderma and myositis.
- Levels > 1/160 may indicate some autoimmune process. If clinical
features suggest SLE then investigate further with DNA antibody
profile.
Extractable Nuclear Antigens (ENA)
- Sm: SLE
- Ro/La: SLE, Sjogrens syndrome
- Nuclear rnp (high): MCTD
- Scl 70: progressive systemic sclerosis
- Centromere: CREST
- Ribosomal ANA: RA, RA+Sjogren's
